Newport Beach

August 10th, 2008

And here’s one more post with pictures from our time on the beach.

This is Blake buried in the sand with cousin Ashley. She is just 3 weeks younger than Blake, his closest cousin in age. (Blake did not like being buried, he broke out of the sand right after this picture was taken)

Clark was a little timid with the water the first day, but he gradually warmed up to it and didn’t mind when the waves crashed over his feet.

Blake sometimes would catch a big wave and run quickly back up the beach.

Dan and I both got sunburned pretty bad our first day, so we left the kids’ shirts on some days to protect their skin. Unfortunately a wet t-shirt can be pretty cold. Clark refuses to wear a t-shirt to our pool now, even though I let him take it off to swim.

Our family building sand castles.

All 14 grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa.

Blake with Sterling and Nicholas - his 2 best buddies.

Clark latched onto cousin Lauren (10) because she was so friendly with him. He still is asking me to call her on the phone and wants to play with her.

After pictures the kids eventually all got their nice clothes drenched in the water.

This was the best picture of our family, even though Clark is refusing to smile.

Well, do they look like father and son?

Disneyland!

August 10th, 2008

Since we vacationed about 30 minutes away from Disneyland we decided to take the kids on their first visit, as well as ours. I’m pleased to say that the boys enjoyed themselves (even though the idea of seeing Captain Hook or some other scary Disney villain had Blake a bit nervous)

Posing with Donald Duck.

Dan and Blake on the Dumbo Ride.

Blake with Nicky and Sammy on the teacups.

Dan and Clark on the teacups.

Blake trying to spin the teacup as fast as he can.

Clark was pooped by the time lunch was over and took a really long nap in the stroller while Blake rode some rides with Dad. Mom was happy to sit out for a while as well since being pregnant can be tiring too.

Blake loved the Winnie-the-Pooh ride and rode it with each of us while Clark slept.

This was Clark’s favorite ride that he asked for over and over - the carousel! We can go ride this at our mall for $2…much cheaper than Disneyland.

Blake also enjoyed the carousel, but his favorite ride was Buzz Lightyear.

Lund Family Vacation

August 10th, 2008

Well, we’ve been home from our trip for about 3 weeks now so I thought it was about time to post some of the pictures. We had so much fun spending a week with the Lund side of our family. My parents rented a beach house for the week and 14 adults and 14 children all stayed there. Blake and Clark loved playing with their 12 cousins.

Blake with his posse.

These 3 boys (all 3 years old and good buddies) loved to pretend they were riding horsies with these shovels and bats. (2 year old Samantha is trying to join in too)

Grandma played bingo with the kids every night. Regardless of winning or not, after each round everybody got a piece of candy. Blake is still asking me to play bingo so he can get a treat :)

12 out of the 14 grandkids went to this water fountain at a nearby mall.

Blake switched off between fighting the water….

….and drinking the water.

We celebrated Lauren & Kenzie’s birthdays and had a pinata.

Luckily it lasted through the 12 kids 5 and under so that the newly turned 10 and 12 year old girls could whack it open.
