My parents sent some more pictures from Madagascar.
These people are great. Noel joined the church in January and his wife Lalao (la low like cow) later. Their son Tahiry is to his father’s right and their grandson is the other boy, Steave. Noel conducts the Sunday meetings under the direction of Bro. Andrus and does a wonderful job. Even though it is not a branch yet they want the meetings to be in Malagasy and so they are.
This is the place we meet now — Soroptimiste Internationale building which Bro. Andrus rents — will the Mission reimburse after we are made a branch is anyone’s guess.
This one is of the two kids that live just outside the gate to the four houses inside, ours being one. Their Dad is the guard and they live in a little little house, hut really just outside the gate. they are the cutest fellows and say Bonjour to us now. This is a hand made go cart as Sister Andrus calls it.
These are the kids in the English class that we meet with on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and they went out to the Tiko farm where Doug Andrus is the manager. Dairy farm for the President of the country except that the President’s wife is the owner now so there won’t be conflict of interest for him.
This is Doug Andrus who ran the BYU dairy farm for about 30 years (doesn’t exist anymore even) and Vola (Voo la ) the teacher of the English class. She speaks very good English and translates stuff in the class if they don’t understand our ramblings.
